The Century Theatre in Coalville has a busy weekend ahead.

On Saturday, the venue has two showings of the movie Puss in Boots - The Last Wish.

When Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and he has burned through eight of his nine lives, he launches an epic journey to restore them by finding the mythical Last Wish.

On Sunday, the Century Theatre plays host to the D-Day Juniors.

They are a young troupe of performers inspired by the UK's premier wartime act, The D-Day Darlings.

Following in their footsteps and capturing the imagination of a new era of young Darlings, The D-Day Juniors aim to keep the wartime spirit alive through new songs commemorating key figures and events from our nation's rich military history.

Produced by lead singer and founding member of The D-Day Darlings, Katie Ashby, The D-Day Juniors comprises an ever-growing line-up of fledgling performers aged between 6-17 years, spreading the message and music of Remembrance.

It is a busy weekend at the 1620s House in Donington le Heath.

On Friday evening, the visitor attraction near Coalville stages The King's Lutenist.

Join Ayres and Graces for a delightful evening of song and poems as they present a celebration of the music of Philip Rosseter and his contemporaries on the 400th anniversary of his death.

Rosseter was an accomplished composer and musician whilst also managing the Children of the Chapel, a Jacobean theatre group that satirised the many court scandals of the time. He is best known for his work A Book of Ayres, which was published in 1601. He was later appointed court lutenist for King James I from 1604 until his death in 1623.

The King's Lutenist is at the 1620s House near Coalville on Friday

On Sunday, the 1620s House is also hosting a Garden Talk, Tour and Cream Tea.

Garden Volunteer, Michael Arkle, will deliver an engaging talk and tour around the fantastic 17th century style gardens.

There will also be a Q&A for any budding or seasoned horticulturist seeking advice on gardening practices.

This will be followed by a delicious Cream Tea (scones and refreshments) in the unique and relaxed surroundings of the 1620s barn.
