Coalville CAN will be hosting a book signing and talk with author Jon Alexander tomorrow evening (Friday).

The new, refurbished offices of the Coalville-based community group will be opened in the morning.

And Jon will be giving a talk from 5-7pm at a free event.

He will be discussing his book Citzens and tweeted this week: "The big trip begins!

"By Monday night the Citizens Tour will have taken me to Grimsby, Derby, Coalville, Sheffield and St Neots, visiting some of the most vibrant Citizen-driven communities in Britain today."

There is a big night of music at the Victoria Bikers Pub in Coalville on Saturday.

Six bands are on the bill - with Murder of Crows returning to headline the evening.

There is also music at the Black Horse in Whitwick tomorrow (Friday).

They will be welcoming Milky Joe to the venue for the first time.

Ibstock Soul Club is hosting another night tomorrow (Friday) at the Central Bar.

The club welcomes its guest for May, Simon Hunt (National & local DJ).

He is supported by resident DJs Rob Gray Richard Reed & Sean T Taylor.
