The Hello Heritage Fortnight begins today (Saturday) with a number of events across the Coalville area designed to inform people of the history and culture of the area.

From today (Saturday) (3 - 18 Sept 10am) - 4pm Coalville CAN has an exhibition of Coalville Coalville Co-operative history in the gallery.

This will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the festival.

In Coleorton today (Saturday) (11am – 4pm) the Homes and buildings of Coleorton exhibition is being staged at the Beaumont Centre, Nottingham Road, Peggs Green. LE67 8HN.

Swannington Incline there is a guided tour of around 1.5mies visiting the western end of Robert Stephenson's Leicester to Swannington railway.

Meet on Spring Lane Thornborough Road end LE67 8QQ at 10am.

The Ibstock Ibstock Historical Society has a walk along High Street today (Saturday).

Both the Methodist and Wesleyan Church will be open and serving refreshments 10am – 12noon.

Tomorrow (Sunday), the Ravenstone Alms Houses will be open with the chapel, historic ledgers to view, grounds open with a local historian available to answer questions.

Today (Saturday), there is a craft fair being staged at the Whitwick & Coalville Leisure Centre.

The event is on from 11am-3pm and you can find details of that event HERE.

In Ibstock, the Montrex Beer Festival is well under way and lasts until tomorrow (Sunday).

There is also live music at the Victoria Bikers' Pub in Coalville.

The Hard Drive Festival finishes today (Saturday) and starts at 1pm.
