What's On In Coalville this weekend
The jazz music of one of Britain's best-loved personalties is one of the top attractions in the Coalville area this weekend.
Dudley Moore's fame as a beloved comic actor and Hollywood movie star and his complex and highly conflicted life story, has rather overshadowed his singular gifts as a witty and imaginative jazzman and composer.
A scintillating live performance laced through with anecdote and insight, this heartfelt tribute - by an outstanding quartet - revisits Dud's dazzlingly fertile musicianship and reveals the richness and sheer likability of his music, with irresistible feel-good sounds alongside heart-rending beauty and poignancy.
The Jazz of Dudley Moore features at the Palace in Ibstock on Saturday night with the Chris Ingham Trio recreating the sounds.
More details and how to buy tickets for the show are HERE.
Tomorrow night (Friday), the Century Theatre is showing the film West Side Story.
Set in Manhattan, Upper West Side, 1957. Against the backdrop of the decaying tenements in the San Juan Hill neighbourhood and the constant threat of the wrecking ball, two warring gangs–tough Riff's Jets and swaggering Bernardo's Puerto Rican Sharks–fight for supremacy.
