The 15th annual Town Hall Rich List has been published, revealing the top salaries at North West Leicestershire District Council.
Data supplied by The Taxpayers' Alliance covers every major council in the country and includes pension contributions, expenses and bonuses on top of salaries to work out the overall remuneration package.
The figures show that the salary for the chief executive at North West Leicestershire District Council was £126,776 - but with other additions, it is £164,765.
This position was occupied by Bev Smith who has since stepped down to take a post as Chair to the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales.
Her successor has yet to be named by the Coalville-based council.
Other salaries revealed by the list at North West Leicestershire District Council are Strategic Director of Housing and Customer Services - £113,590 (including pension); and Strategic Director of Place - £111, 290.
John O'Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: "Taxpayers facing a cost of living crisis want to know they are getting value for money from their local authority leadership.
"With households having suffered through the pandemic and now struggling under colossal tax bills, the country needs councils to prioritise key services without resorting to punishing tax hikes.
"These figures will allow residents to judge town hall bosses for themselves and hold their local councils to account."
