Big crowds came to Coalville Park over the weekend to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

Families were invited to the free two-day event which was organised by North West Leicestershire District Council and the Friends of Coalville Park.

The event took the shape of three events over the two days.

On Saturday morning, Friends of Coalville Park invited local sports clubs, societies and other active travel agencies to promote their activities.

After that, there was an evening of live music from the Mudslide Band and the Carton Kings Band.

Sunday saw live music from Real Monsters Band, The Inspired Band and Leicestershire Co-op brass band.

A time capsule was also buried at the event - and is not to be opened for another 50 years.

Here are some photos from the event.
