Coalville Park will be hosting the town's VE Day 75th Anniversary celebrations on May 8.

People are invited to the Tea Party in the Park where you will be able to bring your own food and drink to share with family and friends, and join in an afternoon of live entertainment and afternoon tea between 1-5pm.

Organisers say everyone is welcome to come and join in at the London Road venue, but if you want to book a table the cost is £5 per table - six per table.

The money from table bookings will be donated to the Royal British Legion and The Alzheimer's Society.

North West Leicestershire District Council is making funding available to support celebratory initiatives which could include a tea party, an exhibition, a talk, a social event for young and old, a dance with a VE Day 75 celebratory theme/connection.
