Two men were arrested by police on Friday night they reportedly tried to break into a commercial property in Coalville town centre.

The incident took place at the Belvoir Shopping Centre and one man was arrested at the scene.

But the other was caught after trying to get away from the property and hiding, before being spotted by the precinct's CCTV.

Police have not identified the property which was targeted by the burglars.

A social media post from North West Leicestershire Police said: "Last night, police attended a report of a commercial burglary in Belvoir shopping centre, Coalville.

"Within minutes, response officers were on the scene and immediately arrested one adult male, with one male trying to make good his escape.

"Unfortunately for him our eagle eyed colleagues, with the assistance of the CCTV operator, located the male trying to hide nearby.

"Two arrested. Two charged."
