A Thringstone pub says damage was caused by some customers watching the England game there last night (Saturday) - describing it as 'unacceptable behaviour'.

The George & Dragon on Ashby Road added that changes would be put in place for Wednesday's semi-final match with Denmark to 'keep the atmosphere safe'.

A social media post from the pub - well known for 'quality dining' - adds that any similar behaviour will not be tolerated, as those who caused problems during the Ukraine victory 'spoilt it' for all.

The pub's Facebook page reads: "This morning (Sunday) we have been forced to make some difficult decisions following the unacceptable behaviour of some of customers yesterday during the England game.

"Despite the teams best efforts to keep the environment safe and enjoyable for everyone there was some that spoilt that for all, causing damage to the property at great cost to the company and also the enjoyment of the customers who can control themselves.

"We will NOT accept this behaviour going forward!

"So….. Wednesday 7th. We will be open as normal for food from 12-3pm. After 3pm no food will be available from the kitchen.

"Bookings for football tables will be taken from 3pm - anybody who comes in before this will be asked to leave the table by 5pm at the latest.

"We will be reducing our outdoor seating capacity to 18 tables - any bookings will need to be signed off.

"We apologise for any inconvenience but these are the measures we need to put into place to keep the atmosphere safe for all involved."

Coalville Nub News has contacted the pub for further comment.
