One of Kip McGrath Coalville's first and longest attending students has become the first in the centre to reach the milestone of 15,000 'Kip Points'

Maisie Barber, was handed the award recently and said that, without the help on offer from the Coalville learning centre based in High Street, she would have struggled to get through her school lessons.

Kip McGrath Coalville offers English and maths tuition for children aged 5-16 who require academic support.

Centre owner Helen Harper explained the significance of the milestone.

She said: "Maisie was one of our very first students and has been an absolute pleasure to work with for the last 20 or so months.

"She joined us after she had asked her parents to find her some extra support.

"Maisie has worked so hard, quickly improving her reading skills and now focussing on her spellings and writing.

"I have nothing but praise for Maisie, she smiles every single lesson, and it is a joy to watch her growing and progressing - 15,000 points is no small feat!

"It means that she has answered at least 15,000 questions or tasks correctly since starting.

"It doesn't surprise me of course. She has completed every single homework task and works incredibly hard every lesson."

Maisie added: "Kip has supported me from the moment I started with them.

"Without Kip I would have struggled more with my lessons.

"Kip has encouraged me to try my best and given me the tools and strategies to do so.

"The teachers at Kip have been patient with me throughout my learning and have helped me to fulfil my potential."

Maisie's mum Gemma added: "As a parent you want the best opportunities for your children, and with Kip I feel that my daughter has that.

"She has always been a hard worker and bright but wasn't able to access the curriculum fully through mainstream teaching techniques.

"Kip has encouraged her and supported her confidence to grow, not only in English but in all subjects due to adaptability of their teaching strategies.

"The academic progress has been incredible and I have no doubt that Kip is a huge part of that.

"Helen and all at Kip have unlocked the potential within my child, reshaping her future for the better."
