Strong winds caused by Storm Eunice are expected to hit Leicestershire between 9-10am this morning.

And they could cause problems all day before dying out overnight.

Stronger winds will reach Birmingham earlier, from the south-west, reaching up to around 60mph or possibly higher from 9am.

This is how the Met Office forecasts the day ahead.

"Storm Eunice brings widespread gales or severe gales today.

"Today: Becoming very windy during the morning as Storm Eunice brings widespread gales, or severe gales, especially during the afternoon, causing some disruption. Early rain and hill snow clearing to brighter skies with further blustery showers, wintry on hills. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

"Tonight: Further bands of rain and hill snow moving across the region overnight. Winds continuing to ease, after early gales, particularly on coasts. Cold with a local ground frost in places. Minimum temperature 0 °C."
