Coalville Indoor Market will be playing host to a special event this Saturday (26 Sept).

Joining the regular and new market traders - as well as the model railway layout - will be a host of special guests sharing news and updates about what's going on in and around the town - with plenty of opportunity to get involved.

Organised by co-op development agency CASE and co-ordinated by Coalville C.A.N., the Connecting Coalville event will include representatives from the Campaign to Re-Open the Ivanhoe Line (CRIL), an update on the Co-op site and the opportunity to share memories with the Living History Project, the opportunity to sign up to get involved in local projects and advice on setting up your own social enterprise or community business from CASE and the Sir Thomas White Charity.

Local police and the team behind Coalville Escape escape rooms, launching later this year, will also be attending, while North West Leicestershire Veterans Community Support will be launching Veterans Hope.

Organiser Ian Wilson, from CASE, said: "We have called the event Connecting Coalville - the more that people connect and collaborate, the more Coalville will have to celebrate.

"Myself and my colleagues are keen to keep connecting and help Coalville build back better!

"CASE will be there to support people to set up their own social enterprise or co-operative.

"Sir Thomas White Charity will be joining us, they have interest-free loans available for people under 45 in Leicestershire to start their own business.

"It's a real opportunity for people to take control of their own destiny.

"Geoff Bushell, CRIL chairman said he is really pleased to be coming to Coalville, it's the heart of the Ivanhoe Line and his team are keen to listen to as many people as possible to get their views.

"This event brings community and enterprise together and we look forward to meeting those able to join us on Saturday."
