North West Leicestershire sees big increase in volunteers for Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean

North West Leicestershire District Council is again supporting Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean - from Friday, March 21 to Sunday, April 6.
This year, there are over 800 volunteer litter pickers helping to keep the district clean, over 100 more than last year.
NWLDC provides all registered volunteers with litter grabbers, hi-vis jackets, and bin bags to support their efforts.
Following last year's successful campaign, the council says it is continuing its commitment to keeping the local communities clean and green. This includes:
- 2,000 litter bags for volunteers – people can claim their free litter-picking bags through Keep Britain Tidy by applying on our KBT webpage
- Support for volunteer litter pickers – residents across North West Leicestershire can register to receive a free litter grabber, hi-visibility vest, and collection bags by signing up on our KBT webpage
- Equipment loans for groups – litter-picking groups can borrow equipment during the campaign, but availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Councillor Michael Wyatt, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change at NWLDC, said: "It's fantastic to see so many volunteers stepping up to help keep North West Leicestershire clean and green.
"The Great British Spring Clean is a great opportunity for communities to come together and take pride in their local area.
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone taking part, and we're proud to support their efforts with equipment and resources. Together, we can make a real difference."
