Local groups can apply for free litter picking kits ahead of Love Your Neighbourhood week

Local not-for-profit organisations can now apply for £100 grants and free litter picking kits thanks to the returning district-wide event Love Your Neighbourhood.
Constituted community groups, charities, parish councils and schools can put themselves forward.
North West Leicestershire District Council's (NWLDC) says registration for Love Your Neighbourhood 2025 is still open for residents, community groups and businesses to organise activities that take pride in where they live.
Love Your Neighbourhood is returning for 2025, but instead of just a weekend, residents can apply for grants and equipment over a whole Week of Action, taking place Monday, June 30–Sunday, July 6.
The deadline to apply is Monday, June 2, at midnight. Registration for your event or activity will stay open until July 6, at 5pm.

Councillor Michael Wyatt, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change at NWLDC, said: "We know how passionate our residents and local groups are about their neighbourhoods.
"Love Your Neighbourhood is all about harnessing community spirit to keep North West Leicestershire clean, green, and welcoming for all.
"I encourage anyone to apply for the grant, no matter how small the project is - even small acts can have a big impact and we're here to support every effort."
