Coalville Town U9 Robins are a football team with a difference.

All the players are brand new to the game, some have additional needs and they only started training together in the summer of 2023.

They also have voluntary coaches who are new so they are all learning together.

Coming into the season they are very much the underdogs playing against teams who already have a couple of years under their belt and they were having to use old hand-me-down kit also.

Now however, they have been given a boost with some brand-new kit sponsored by Garry Hamilton Ltd.

Coaches Holly Jarman and Mark Allen said: "The Under-9 Robins are a brand new team who formed at the start of this season.

"It has been a tough start, coming up against teams who have been formed for a good few seasons already. But our Robins just keep on battling!

"We took on the team as our son really wanted to play, we were asked by another manager if we would take on the challenge of coaching and now here we are.

"The boys had hand-me-down shirts, mismatched shorts and socks.

"But, thanks to our sponsors, they stepped out beaming and looking like a real football team.

"It's wonderful to see the boys enjoying the game and growing in confidence every week.

"We felt extremely proud to see them play in their new kit and looking really smart.

"The boys all look so smart and it showed in their very first game with them all playing really well.

"A big thank you to Garry Hamilton Ltd for their generous sponsorship, they have made this bunch of boys, and us, so very happy!"
