Ravenstone-based Hospice Hope, which runs Coalville and Whitwick support cafés, is changing its name to provide 'greater clarity and purpose'.
In the hospice's summer newsletter, chairman Stewart Shepherd, explains: "For some considerable time, the trustees, staff and leaders have been discussing the need to change the name of Hospice Hope.
"As we move forward into a new era for the charity, we need a name that reflects more accurately the services that we currently provide and plan to develop in the future.
"The time has come to rebrand our charity and move into 2021 with a new name, logo and strapline, which provide greater clarity and purpose.
"Following many meetings and discussions, the trustees have approved the new name for our charity 'Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire'.
"This will be accompanied by the strapline: 'Strength for today and Bright Hope for tomorrow'.
"We shall be proceeding with this name change over the coming months and further updates will be posted on our website in due course."
In addition, the hospice has updated its mission statement to include a commitment to support people with conditions affecting their ability to live an active life, but which do not necessarily reduce their life expectancy.
The hospice has also launched a new tablet loan scheme in partnership with Coalville-based Enrych Connect and funded by Rotary Club of Ashby de la Zouch Hastings, The Community Fund and other foundations.
The pilot scheme is unique in that instead of having a library of equipment to hand out the hospice is building the technology around the user, taking into account their individual needs.
It is able to do this through Enrych Connect's team of experts who complete an assessment of each service user and choose equipment which will help to get them online.
The user can then access a variety of services, such as support from Hospice Hope and Enrych, to GP appointments, prescription orders and connections to friends and family.
Enrych Connect is also helping with any training and support needs.
The loan scheme is for an initial three-month period, after which Hospice Hope will evaluate ongoing need and demand.
It is open to anyone living with a disability, or with a condition limiting quality or length of life, in North West Leicestershire.
