Families are being encouraged to take part in a new 'passport hunt' around the 1620s House and Garden and other Leicestershire County Council museums this summer.

Prizes are on offer for people who visit multiple museums, including the historic manor house in Donington le Heath.

Melton Carnegie Museum, Harborough Museum, Charnwood Museum and Bosworth Battlefield are also taking part.

Cllr Christine Radford, cabinet member for adults and communities, said: "We are so pleased to offer this new passport hunt.

"Our museums are fantastic, and this is a great way to give the whole family a chance to see our exhibitions and have fun.

"I would encourage everyone to take part and enjoy our new hunt and experience our museums."

Passports can be collected at any one of the five sites, and each museum has a special challenge to complete to earn a sticker for the passport.

Stickers from three museums will earn a free notebook.

Complete the challenge by visiting all five museums to have a photo taken inside a special photo frame.

A range of events are taking place across museums during the rest of the summer, including the Medieval Medley Living History weekend at Bosworth Battlefield, Pride and Prejudice Open Air Theatre at The 1620s House and Garden or the We Are Harborough exhibition at Harborough Museum.
