Popular skills support hub comes to Shepshed this month
A popular scheme offering people tailored support to boost their skills is running in Shepshed this month.
Work & Skills is a completely free service run by Leicestershire County Council and provides residents with help finding work or training.
Personal advisers will be on hand to offer impartial and professional advice service on writing CVs, letter writing, interviews and more in the pop up hubs at Shepshed Library in August.
Councillor Peter Bedford, cabinet member for recovery and transformation, said: "Our Work & Skills programme is a great resource and has already supported over 1,300 people. It provides residents with a wealth of information and support no matter where they are on their career journey.
"I encourage anyone who is unsure on how to progress their career or how to get started in their dream role to get in touch and talk to the team."
Through Work & Skills, residents can receive a tailored plan, with clear targets and steps to reach them. Help is available in a range of areas, including:
• CV writing skills
• cover letter writing skills
• job search
• learning, training or volunteering opportunities
• interview techniques
• digital training
• self-employment advice and business support
Pop up hubs will run from 2-4pm on Thursdays between 3 and 24 August at Shepshed Library.
