North West Leicestershire District Council is looking for staff ahead of the May local elections.

The council's elections team is currently preparing for the County Council and Police & Crime Commissioner elections being held on Thursday, May 6, as well as some by-elections that will also be held on the same day.

To support the election effort, the council wants to fill the these posts:

  • Polling station staff (need to be available all day Thursday 6 May)
  • Verification assistants (need to be available from 10pm onwards on Thursday 6 May)
  • Count assistants (need to be available on Friday 7 May and/or Saturday 8 May).

The council adds these are all paid roles and more information will be made available upon registering your interest.

The impact of Covid-19 is at the forefront of the council's planning and it will be focusing on ensuring that both polling stations and the count meet all Covid safety guidance and criteria.

Full training will be provided online.

If you are interested in getting involved, contact Melanie Long or Louise Scott on 01530 454503 or by e-mailing [email protected]
