North West Leicestershire Police have warned residents to make sure their doors are locked to prevent sneak thieves.

Police say the area is currently at risk and that parts of Coalville area have been targeted.

The Police posted on social media and said: "The North West area is being targeted by offenders who are actively looking for unlocked doors at present.

"This is the most basic of crime prevention, however, we would like to remind our residents to lock up even if you are at home.

"It only takes seconds for someone to enter your home and take your car keys.

"The Bardon Team are actively hunting those responsible and would ask that you get in contact if you have any information which would assist us."
