A spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries were reported in North West Leicestershire last week.

Now, detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Leicestershire Police say that the following incidents were all reported on Wednesday (May 15) and are believed to be linked:

• A man was seen trying the back door of a house in King Richards Hill, Whitwick, at around 5pm

• Two men were seen trying the back door of a house in Trinity Close, Ashby, at around 5.30pm

• A property in Templars Way, Whitwick, was broken into between 1.30pm and 5.30pm and money and jewellery were taken

Reports were also received stating two men were seen trying front doors and car doors in Blackham Road, Hugglescote in the early hours of last Thursday (May 16).

Detective Inspector Parminder Dhillon said: "I'd ask our communities in North West Leicestershire to remain vigilant and ensure their homes and vehicles are secure.

"Our enquiries into these incidents, which we believe may be linked, are continuing and I would like to speak to anyone who thinks they can help. I'm particularly keen to speak to any residents with doorbell, CCTV or dashcam footage.

"If you heard or saw anyone acting in a manner that seemed unusual, suspicious or that caught your attention, please get in touch. Anything you're able to tell us could be key."
