Leicestershire Police say that a body has been found in Hugglescote following the search for a missing woman.

Although formal identification is yet to place, the police say that the body is that of Christine Cliff.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "The 78-year-old was last seen at her address in Hugglescote area on the morning of Sunday, April 23. 

"The body was found later the same day. 

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and file is being prepared for HM Coroner.

"Thank you to everyone to helped share our appeal and assisted with our enquiries."

Christine was believed to have left her address in the Standard Hill area of Hugglescote at around 4am on Sunday.

Officers carried out a number of enquiries that day to try and find her.
