Police Reveal Drunk Woman 'Assaulted Coalville Cop'

A woman has been charged after assaulting a Coalville police officer on Friday night.

A Tweet from Leicestershire 24/7 Response revealed some details of the incident.

Police say the woman was drunk but faced the reality of what she had done the next day when she had sobered up,

The message was accompanied by the hashtags 'zero tolerance' and 'Protect the Protectors'.

The police tweeted on Saturday: "Last night, a drunk adult female thought it would be a good idea to assault a Coalville police cop.

"Today she woke up with a sore head.

"Later, I authorised charges for assaulting emergency worker. Sgt Prince #ProtectTheProtectors #zerotolerance".
