Plans in place for more than 60 new homes as part of South East Coalville Sustainable Urban Extension scheme

The next phase of house-building at a major development between Hugglescote and Ellistown has emerged.
The proposed new properties would form part of the wider 2,700-home expansion project to the south-east of Coalville.
The wider South East Coalville Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) scheme will also boast a new local centre, pub and restaurant, medical centre, school and nursery once complete.
Outline permission for the project was granted in 2016, meaning it was approved in principle, with more detailed plans to be put forward and approved at a later date.
The SUE is split into the Hugglescote Grange and Swinfen Vale schemes, with a number of approvals given over the intervening years by North West Leicestershire District Council's (NWLDC) planning team.
Among these include a new Aldi store on the Swinfen Vale site and a 420-place "forest school", with permission now being sought for 61 further homes.

These would be part of the third phase of building, located to the south-west of the site and to the north of the Western Avenue link road which was approved in December. The link road, and a second "loop road" will provide access into the site from Beveridge Lane at Ellistown.
A separate application for the "loop road" is also being considered by NWLDC.
These latest homes would be made up of 27 three-beds and 34 four-beds. Parking would be a mix of on-plot, garage and bay parking. Two spaces would be made available for each of the three-bed properties, while there would be three for each of the four-beds.
A public consultation on the plans will run until Friday, March 14. NWLDC has set a target decision date of Thursday, May 15.
