Newmarket Development Work Begins In Coalville This Week

- Work on Newmarket expected to take three months with Spring completion date
- There will be some changes to parking and traffic in Marlborough Square
- Market will create 'a modern, vibrant space'
- District Council is inviting applications from stallholders
Bus stops on the north side of the square will operate as normal.
Councillor Andrew Woodman, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at NWLDC, said: "We're very excited to see work starting to create Newmarket and bring Coalville's market into the heart of the town. This is part of our regeneration work for Coalville – moving the market and creating a modern, vibrant space that will be exciting for shoppers and traders alike.
"We appreciate that there will be some disruption while the work is ongoing and we thank people for their patience during this time."

The current indoor market will stay open until the new one is ready to receive customers. Its trading days are Tuesday 8am to 2pm, and Friday and Saturday 8am to 4pm.
