A Motorcyclist died in a collision on the A511 between Coalville and Ashby last night (Monday).

Detectives from Leicestershire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone with information to come forward following the incident.

Police were called to a stretch of the road at Sinope, close to the junction with Alton Hill, at 10.15pm.

The force said that, on arrival, it was established that a grey Hyundai i10 had collided with an orange KTM 125 Duke motorcycle.

The car had left the carriageway following the collision.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

PC Ellise Timmins, from the SCIU, said: "While several people stopped at the scene following the collision, I'm keen to speak to anyone who can help our investigation but who has not yet contacted police.

"I'd like to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A511 between Coalville and Ashby last night and who saw what happened or either of the vehicles involved beforehand.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to anyone with a dashcam in their vehicle as any footage you have could assist us."
