WHITWICK Parish Council has announced the opening of a new Memorial Arch in the village.

The newly-installed arch is at the entrance to the Memorial Garden in Whitwick Park.

The council says the Memorial Garden is a place that anyone can attend for reflection and thought - but also to enjoy the quiet space.

A council spokesperson said: "It was important for us to ensure that the arch was installed before Remembrance Sunday (November 10) and thanks to Artisan of Ashby, this has been achieved.

"The Parish Councillors are continually adding to our Memorial Garden to improve the area and hope to organise a planting scheme for the area for 2025."

All ages are welcome to use this area of the park, and the council encourages all residents and families to come along and see the garden for themselves.
