Martial arts Academy announces £10,000 'major refurbishment' as it marks 20 years in Coalville
Stealth Black Belt Academy is celebrating 20 years of offering martial arts and fitness training in Coalville.
With two full-time centres, including their flagship 6,000 sq ft purpose-built facility on the Stephenson Industrial Estate, Stealth says it has cemented its place as one of the leading martial arts academies in the UK.
Now, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to providing world-class facilities, Stealth has undergone a major refurbishment over the Christmas break.
With an investment exceeding £10,000, the Academy now boasts a fully revamped dojo.
The 210 square meters of brand-new matted training floor is designed to ensure safety, comfort and the perfect surface for high-quality Martial Arts training.
One standout feature of the renovation is the new heavy bag wall station.
This innovative setup incorporates a variety of punch bags, uppercut bags, and body bags, offering diverse training options for striking techniques.
Additionally, new equipment has been introduced to enhance class variety and member engagement, which Stealth says, reaffirms its dedication to cutting-edge Martial Arts training.
But the upgrades will not end there.
This month will see the grand opening of the Stealth Strength Forge, a members-only gym exclusively available to Stealth Martial Arts members and their parents.
Stealth says this state-of-the-art facility is designed to rival any commercial gym, without the overcrowding. It features:
- Strength machines, including shoulder press, chest press, pec deck, hack squat, leg curl, leg extension, lat pull down, and Smith machine.
- Functional training equipment, such as Olympic rigs, a dedicated deadlift zone, gymnastic rings, climbing ropes, and lots of specialised Strongman gear.
- Over 3,000kg of free weights and 2,000kg of dumbbells, alongside a comprehensive collection of pretty much every variety of Olympic bars.
Head Coach Kieran Smith, who has practiced Yoga for over a decade, is also bringing a new dimension to the Academy's offerings.
Recently qualified as a Yoga instructor, he will be leading six-week Yoga courses designed for all abilities, promoting flexibility, strength, and mindfulness.
The academy's 2025 timetable introduces some changes, including sparring in every class for those with approved kits and the much-anticipated return of the 'legendary Bears Beastings' on Saturday mornings.
Founder Craig Smith will be coming out of retirement to lead these sessions, bringing back his signature intensity, passion and military humour.
Stealth will also host tryouts for the 2025 Elite Stealth Top Gun Fighting Team, renowned for its dominance on the UK open competition circuit. Competition for a spot on this elite team is fierce, as the team represents the pinnacle of skill and dedication within the academy.
