The Marlene Reid Centre has announced plans to offer free transport to Coalville for Whitwick and Thringstone residents.

Starting this September, the new service will operate every Wednesday morning.

The ever-growing Community Hub is partnering with the People Zones Project, funded by The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, to support the scheme.

Customers can call The Marlene Reid Centre on 01530 512456 to book a doorstep pick up and drop off.

They will be dropped off and collected at an agreed time at the Marlene Reid Centre - giving them enough time to spend some time around Coalville town centre, or pay a visit to the centre which hosts an Inclusive Arts Workshop, as well as a Social Supermarket, each Wednesday morning.

Paul Fagan from MRC said: "We hear a lot about the challenges residents have accessing transport.

"So we are really excited to be working with People Zones to help connect residents of Whitwick and Thringstone with the town centre."

For more information on the project contact The Marlene Reid Centre on 01530 510515 or 01530 512456"
