Man Hit By Car In Coalville Incident Left With Serious Injuries

Police say the man who was hit by a car In Bardon Hill last night (Friday) suffered 'serious injuries'.

But it is understood he is not in a life-threatening conditon.

The incident happened in Beveridge Lane and the road was closed for around four hours - but police are still conducting enquiries.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers were called at 6.40pm yesterday (Friday) to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Beveridge Lane, Bardon Hill, Coalville.

"East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A road closure was in place in the area following the incident. This closure was lifted shortly after 10.35pm.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
