A newly-formed Coalville football team is trying to raise funds as they have no kit to play in.

The Coalville Town Robins/Ruffs have merged Under8s teams for this season and are trying to raise the funds to provide the team with football and training kits.

One member of the team is currently asking for sponsors to raise the required funds and will shave his head when they reach their target.

Some of the team's player's mums are trying to fundraise in an attempt to reach the target.

They are trying to organise a raffle using donated items to raise the extra cash they need.

An appeal has also been made to local businesses or companies who would be willing to offer any products or services which they may use for a raffle.

The organisers appreciate that this year has been a difficult one for businesses so donating raffle prizes may not be possible - but they are asking them to make people aware of their fundraiser.

They add that the team are happy now that they have finally managed to return to football training for the new season - and would be even happier if they had their own kit.

If you would like to donate any items please contact: Jo Bown: [email protected] or Abby Norris: [email protected]
