A man has been charged with drink-driving following a collision with 'a number of vehicles' in Coalville Morrison's Supermarket car park yesterday.

Photos on social media show that the incident left several cars damaged around a trolley bay.

That was later taped off by police following the collision.

Leicestershire Police confirmed this morning (Friday) that a 61-year-old man has been charged with drink-driving.

Paul Arnold, of Regency Way in Stretton, Burton upon Trent, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 6.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police gave further details.

He said: "The charge relates to a collision involving a number of vehicles in a supermarket car park in Whitwick Road, Coalville, shortly after 12pm yesterday (Thursday 17 March)."

Witnesses have alleged on social media that pedestrians were said to have been shaken up by the incident.
