Coalville has welcomed a new shopping haven just in time for the festive season – MAKERS, a store bursting with over 60 creative minds and artists offers a plethora of locally crafted Christmas presents.

Nestled at the heart of Coalville in Memorial Square, MAKERS promises a unique shopping experience, featuring an array of gifts and goodies perfect for the holiday season.

From charming Coalville fridge magnets to intricate wire sculptures, wooden Christmas trees, and snowmen, metal dragons, knitted hats , handmade bears, glass jewellery, ceramics and more.

Some extra special pieces include four Leicester foxes wearing Coalville coats, six bespoke robots made from upcycled materials, books written by local authors and unique paintings.

The store - part of the Coalville CAN offices - is a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind presents that you will not find anywhere else.

What sets MAKERS apart is its commitment to ethical and local production.

Each item in the store is crafted with care and passion by skilled artisans from the local and wider community.

Whether you are seeking a thoughtful gift for a loved one or a unique addition to your holiday decorations, MAKERS has something for everyone.

The diverse range of products reflects the creativity and talent of the local community, providing shoppers with a chance to support and celebrate the rich artistic tapestry of Coalville.

The space re-opened its doors last week - as more than 150 people celebrated the revitalising of the town's creative community hub.

The newly revamped space now hosts 68 local makers, covering a range of crafts from ceramics to textiles, wood to metal, glass to recycled robots and more.

The ground floor offers workshop and meeting spaces, including a repair bench and upholstery room.Upstairs features STEM areas, classrooms, therapy rooms, counselling and training spaces, supporting both Makers, social enterprises and independent businesses.

The area is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am-4 pm, and is available for bookings.

Coalville CAN says its offices are not only a workspace - but a community resource for everyone.

Oli Mellor, Central Co-op, and the Sing Loud Be Proud Community Choir all took part in the successful re-opening which took place last Wednesday.

Sandra Mayne is a local artist whose exhibition has enriched the Gallery recently, while Richard Trigg's upcoming exhibition opens today (Monday) and runs to Saturday (November 25).

You can join him for free sketching workshops and a launch evening for his exhibition on Wednesday (Nov 23) at 6pm.
