M1 Crash: Coalville Fire Service Called Out To Collision Which Left Lorry Overturned

Coalville Fire Crew were called out to the incident at Junction 22 of the M1 today in which a lorry overturned in what was described as a ''multi vehicle collision'.

Leicestershire Fire Service posted photos on their Facebook page showing the extent of the crash which caused huge tailbacks on the motorway and caused drivers to be delayed on the southbound carriageway by 45 minutes.

Highways England now report that a crane has been called in to help clear the wreckage.

The Junction22 entry slip road was closed along with lanes one and two due the crash which left one lorry is on its side.

Highways England has provided an update which says: "Recovery work continues and closures remain unchanged, crane now in operation."

Leicestershire Fire Service posted on their Facebook page: "A very challenging job this morning, a joint effort by Coalville, Western and Southern fire station."

Highways England have advised drivers to look for alternative routes.
