Coalville's Long Lane Surgery is reporting encouraging news for those waiting for their second vaccination dose.

The surgery has given an update on the current situation on its Facebook page.

It reads: "Second Covid vaccine supply is good, you will be contacted to either go back to the Measham hub or the surgery (depending on where you had your first vaccine) at around 11 weeks from your first dose.

"All patients have so far had their second vaccine before the 12 week mark.

"Next week is second vaccines for our first housebound patient cohort - these patients will be contacted to confirm the day we will be visiting.

"An increased number of clinicians will therefore be out of the building vaccinating during the week.

"First vaccine supply has reduced, we still have small ongoing clinics at the surgery, and are currently offering the vaccine to the 45-50year cohort.

"If you would like the vaccine please contact the surgery. Via the national booking hub you can also book appointments at local pharmacies.

"Please be aware we are still staffing the Measham Hub, and in surgery first and second vacccine clinics.

"This does mean less clinicians/ reception and admin team at the surgery but we have to prioritise, we are grateful for your understanding."
