Latest Coronavirus Figures For County: Including North West Leicestershire

No new coronavirus cases have been added to Melton's total for the second day running according to Government figures.
Some 39 new cases were added to Leicester's cumulative toll in the last 24 hours.
Across the county another seven cases were confirmed.
Broken down to district and borough level, Charnwood and Harbough saw the biggest rises with two new cases each.
Elsewhere, Blaby, North West Leicestershire and Oadby and Wigston all added one to their tolls.
Cases and infection rates according to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on Friday August 7 at 4pm:
Leicester – 5,143 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 1,451
Blaby – 521 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 513Charnwood – 856 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 460
Harborough – 400 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 426Hinckley and Bosworth – 567 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 501
Melton – 195 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 380North West Leicestershire – 336 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 324
Oadby and Wigston – 503 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 882Leicester has been waiting all day for an announcement on what happens next with the local lockdown after it emerged this morning that a review of restrictions would be carried out today.
So far there has been no word from the Government on whether any remaining rules will be relaxed.

The Government's new website which reports daily totals often shows zero new cases for the past couple of days – this is thought to be down to a data lag of around four days. Totals adjust accordingly.
