Latest Coronavirus Case Figures For North West Leicestershire

Two new coronavirus cases have been reported in North West Leicestershire in the past 24 hours.

And fewer than 50 new cases have been confirmed in the city and county.

There were 21 new cases added to Leicester's cumulative total on Monday, September 28, the lowest increase in days, with another 26 being confirmed across the county.

More than 100 cases a day were being confirmed on some days last week.

Broken down to district and borough level, it was Charnwood that again saw the biggest increase with nine new cases identified.

Hinckley and Bosworth added five new cases to its overall toll and both Blaby and Harborough's tally increased by four.

North West Leicestershire and Oadby and Wigston each confirmed a further two cases.

There were no cases confirmed in Melton.

The local figures updated at 4pm on Monday, September 28 were:

Leicester – 6,928 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 1,955

Blaby – 797 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 785

Charnwood – 1,176 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 632

Harborough – 539 total cases -. Rate per 100,000 population: 574

Hinckley and Bosworth – 705 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 623

Melton – 257 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 502

North West Leicestershire – 417 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 402

Oadby and Wigston – 738 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 1,294

Figures shared on an NHS dashboard today showed there are 608 current coronavirus cases in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Seven-day rates in both the city and county have increased but in line with other areas in the country.

The local figures updated at 4pm on Sunday, September 27 were:

Leicester – 6,907 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 1,950

Blaby – 793 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 781

Charnwood – 1,167 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 628

Harborough – 535 total cases -. Rate per 100,000 population: 570

Hinckley and Bosworth – 700 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 619

Melton – 257 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 502

North West Leicestershire – 415 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 401

Oadby and Wigston – 736 total cases – Rate per 100,000 population: 1,291
