Sunnyside Garden Centre in Ibstock says its restaurant will be closed until next Friday after one of its staff tested positive for Covid-19.

But the Leicester Road nursery has made it clear that its garden centre facility will remain open - and that twice weekly testing of staff will continue.

Sunnyside's Facebook page has given full details about how it will be operating over the next week.

It posted: "Unfortunately one of our restaurant staff has tested positive for Covid and we have decided to close our restaurant for a few days to ensure the health and well being of our staff and valued customers is protected.

"Our planned re-opening is Friday 16th July.

"The garden centre will remain open as this team is unaffected.

"As a family business we take seriously our responsibility to do the right thing and we will be deep cleaning our restaurant and facilities ahead of re-opening.

"The twice weekly testing of staff will continue as we navigate this difficult and challenging period.

"In the meantime we encourage everyone to stay safe and do the right thing."
