Chance to run cafes at Leicestershire visitor attractions is on offer - after success of Coalville venue
The opportunity to run cafés at two popular Leicestershire attractions has come up - after the success of a similar facility in Coalville.
Leicestershire County Council is looking for people to take over Beacon Hill Café, in the country park near Loughborough, and the 1485 Tithe Barn at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.
And it is based on the business model at Coalville's Snibston Colliery Park.
The two venues have been run by the authority for the past five and seven years respectively.
They are "firmly established in popular locations", the council said, and "attract a wide range of customers including cyclists, hikers and horse-riding groups, as well as young families and dog walkers".
Both Beacon Hill Country Park and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre are award-winning sites that attract thousands of visitors each year, with the council saying this makes them a "lucrative opportunity" for "any entrepreneur".
The two cafés are described as "bright, welcoming and accessible spaces that are also suitable for hire" by the authority.
Councillor Lee Breckon, county council cabinet member for resources, said: "Over the years, the council has grown and transformed our cafés to be significant attractions in our country parks and heritage venues.
"We are now opening up two unique local opportunities for innovative and energetic entrepreneurs to add even more value to these fabulous venues and become an important part of our country parks community.
"This strategy follows the successful business model we have developed and seen flourish at Snibston Colliery Park in Coalville."
Anyone interested in taking on the cafés should contact APB Leicester to find out more or to arrange a viewing.
