Hugglescote Surgery has been marking Happy International Nurses Day.

The surgery posted a photo of nursing staff outside its building in Grange Road.

And the following message is on the Surgery's Facebook page: "Nurses have always played a crucial role in the recovery and wellbeing for people all across the globe.

"The pandemic situation has a greater significance of International Nurses Day, more now than ever before.

"Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and their diversified role is to carry out several tasks and wear multiple hats each and everyday.

"We have been through the most challenging 12 months we will probably ever see and yet our Nursing Team still smile and continue to amaze us.

"We are beyond proud of our fantastic nursing team and we hope that you will join us in celebrating all that they are.

"Well done team, we appreciate you so much. Thank you!!"

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.
