Home care company near Coalville celebrates the success of ‘Be a Santa’ campaign

Local home care company, Home Instead Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville, warmed the hearts of the local community over Christmas, with its annual 'Be a Santa' gift-giving campaign.

With many older people spending Christmas alone, and often end up missing out on the festivities.

In a bid to combat loneliness while spreading Christmas joy, Home Instead called on locals to 'Be a Santa' and drop off gifts to Morrisons in Coalville, which were then donated to John Storer House, an independent charity.

Since launching the campaign in 2018, the home care company has collected and donated hundreds of gifts, from winter warmers and toiletries to sweet treats and chocolates, putting a smile on faces during the holiday season.

Home Instead owner Charlotte Johnson, said: "It was another successful year for our 'Be a Santa' campaign, donating around 30 items to John Storer House. 

"It's rewarding to know we helped make the festive period that little bit brighter for members of the community who benefitted from some love over Christmas."
