Hello Heritage returns to North West Leicestershire - with events aimed at celebrating history and crafts

Crafts, exhibitions and re-enactments from throughout history will play a part in celebrating North West Leicestershire with the return of its annual heritage festival next week.
Organised by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), Hello Heritage is set to start on Saturday 2 until Sunday, September 17.
Breedon Wakes Festival will kick off the annual event with a 15th century medieval re-enactment to showcase past crafts and skills including archery, weaponry and woodworking.
Belton Heritage Fayre and 'Griffydam in the 19th & 20th century as portrayed in the newspapers' exhibition will also feature in the line-up to give visitors a feel for what the villages were like in medieval times.
Regular Hello Heritage stalwarts, Moira Furnace Museum and the 1620s House and Garden and will return with trails and tours.
More than 20 local community groups and businesses are involved with hosting and organising local events including churches, historical society groups and museums.
During the festival, visitors can also look at the heritage information boards which are scattered across the district with fascinating facts about each town or village's history.
