Coalville CAN is now offering free, professional counselling for parents who are looking for support with their wellbeing.

The Memorial Square community group has announced a 12 month service for parents living in North West Leicestershire.

Funded by the Neighbourhood Mental Health Resilience Fund, CAN is offering is an average of 15 sessions per parent.

Face to face sessions will take place at CAN's town centre offices, but remote sessions are available if needed.

A CAN spokesperson said: "We understand, as parents, the challenges you are facing and the difficulties this can bring.

"The current cost of living crisis, on top of the effects of Covid, have impacted us all.

"When we combine this with the challenges of parenting in everyday life, things can be overwhelming.

"The impact of this can cause feelings of anxiety and low mood, affecting our ability to cope and manage in our daily lives.
