Flag to be raised in Coalville next week as a show of support for Armed Forces Day

North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) will show its support for Britain's Armed Forces with a flag raising ceremony in Coalville next week.
The Armed Forces Day flag will be raised at Stenson House on London Road, Coalville at 10am on Monday, June 19, and flown for one week.
The proceedings will led by the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Ray Morris.
Armed Forces Day itself is on Saturday 24 June.
The day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community.
NWLDC signed its Armed Forces Community Covenant – a public pledge to support the district's armed forces community – in 2014.
The council's dedicated Armed Forces Champion is Councillor Tony Gillard, he said: "It would be great to see members of the community join us at the flag raising on Monday morning.
"It's important we show our gratitude and thanks to the brave hard work and dedication shown by our armed forces.
"Raising the Armed Forces Day flag is just one way of showing how proud we are of those that serve our country."
A whole host of events have been planned around the country for Armed Forces Day itself and leading up to it, with businesses and communities showing their support.
