Do you fancy becoming a Bardon Hill Womble?

By Graham Hill 23rd Feb 2021

A new litter picking group is being set up in the Coalville area - to help clean up one of the highest points in Leicestershire.

Michael Wyatt, chairman of the Broom Leys allotment society, has been successful in obtaining some external funding to get it started - and give local people a chance to enjoy the outdoors at the same time.

The project is jointly funded by Bardon Aggregate and the Broom Leys Allotment society.

Mr Wyatt said: "Bardon Hill is a fantastic outdoor space which many local people enjoy.

"The idea of walking and litter picking is a great way to help clean up one of our local beauty spots which like many other areas blighted by unwanted litter.

"We are hoping to organise our first walk for early April, so if anyone is interested then please let me know."

If you would like to become a Bardon Hill Womble then you can register by sending an email to [email protected] or send a text with your name and contact details to 07773341531.

The first litter pick and walk up to the summit is being planned for early April. Date to be confirmed.
