Couple Find True Love And Fulfilment.... At Amazon In Coalville!

Rugile Savickaite and Lucretiu Pop found more than just a job when they joined Amazon.

The couple who met and fell in love while working in Amazon's fulfilment centre in Coalville have been featured in a video which is being shared across the world after it was announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The launch of Amazon's Coalville fulfilment centre in 2016 also marked the beginning of Rugile and Lucretiu's love story.

Lucretiu was one of the first employees to join the site and Rugile joined shortly afterwards as a seasonal worker for the Christmas period to supplement her university degree in Creative Events Management.

When the two met there was an instant spark but Rugile was studying in Bournemouth so they had to make their relationship work long distance.

For three years, Rugile moved in with Lucretiu every summer and joined Amazon as a seasonal worker, before going back to university in autumn.

In the summer of 2019, Rugile graduated from university and Lucretiu knew this was the perfect time to ask her to marry him. She said yes.

Rugile aspired to become a wedding planner after she graduated however, her plans changed when she fell in love with Lucretiu - and with Amazon - and she applied for a permanent job as the General Manager's Assistant.

Rugile said: "The idea to be an Amazon family and do the job I love changed my mind. Instead of planning weddings, I now plan employee events, amongst other responsibilities. I wouldn't change it for the world."

Lucretiu added: "It's been three years and three promotions between us since we met and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to marry Rugile."

In the lead up to Valentine's Day, Amazon has been inspired by Rugile and Lucretiu's story and have featured them in a global video which is being shared worldwide after it was announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The video features a lighthearted sketch of an Amazon Scout delivery device and an Amazon Robotics device used in the company's fulfilment centres, "falling in love". While the video jokes about robots falling in love, it goes on to celebrate employees who have actually found love while working in the Amazon operations network.
