North West Leicestershire District Council will be recycling your old Christmas Trees - but only if you put it in the green garden bin.

The Council says that, for safety reasons, trees left on drives will not be collected.

A social media post explains: "Getting ready for your first garden waste collection since before Christmas?

"We can recycle your real Christmas tree.

"Please put it inside your garden bin. The lid should be fully closed so you may need to trim/cut the tree for it to fit.

"For health and safety reasons, trees left out next to the garden bin won't be collected."
