North West Leicestershire District Council has given two dates when Coalville area residents can collect replacement recycling containers.

The council says it is facing a backlog of orders for new boxes and bags - and will not be able to deliver them until the new year.

But you will be able to collect them in person before Christmas from the council's new office in Coalville.

A social media post from the council says: "We've had a backlog of orders and apologise for any inconvenience if you've been waiting for your order.

"If you're waiting for a new red box (or lid), blue or yellow bag, we've got two dates when you can come and collect them in the run up to Christmas.

"Visit our Customer Centre on Belvoir Road in Coalville (opposite Insomnia Coffee) between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday 15 and 22 December and pick up your items from us.

"If you're unable to come and collect your items from us, don't worry, we'll make sure to deliver them to you by the new year.

"While you're waiting, please use an appropriate container for separating your waste, e.g. cardboard can be folded and put inside another cardboard box no bigger than 2ft by 2ft."
