30th Aug 2020 | Local News

Updated data released on Friday shows that there were two Coronavirus-related deaths recorded during July in Coalville area and surrounding towns.

The data localises how many people have died from Covid-19 in each region.

The latest statistics show a distinct decline although it is still two deaths too many.

The official total for Coalville and neighbouring towns is 40 up to July 31.

But the figure for July reflects the fact that North West Leicestershire has one of the lowest totals in the county.

The figures are issued by the Office For National Statistics for Middle Layer Super Output Areas.

Coalville has recorded no deaths since nine people lost their lives in April.

Figures for the Hugglescote & Bardon Hill area show four deaths up to July 31 but none in July.

There was one recorded Covid-19 recorded death in the Agar Nook region last month to add to the three in April.

Whitwick has had no more deaths since the two recorded in April while Thringstone has had five but none in July.

The region's second death in July occurred in the Ibstock & Ellistown area and there have been four in all since March.

Markfield & Thornton have had seven deaths but there were none in July.
