Coronavirus: Police Urge Children In Coalville Area To Send In Letters and Pictures To Emergency Workers

By Graham Hill 1st Apr 2020

North West Leicestershire Police are encouraging the region's children to spread some cheer for emergency workers based in Coalville.

PC Emma Holmes of the North West Leicestershire Rural Crime team has issued a message inviting local children to send in letters and pictures.

She wrote: "This week on our Facebook and Twitter page I published a video, but thought I would do a post for those of you who don't use those platforms.

"Monday was the start of week two for a number of parents and guardians who are home schooling.

"So I wanted to help out and set a task for those children you have at home.

"Now in Coalville, we have the Police, Ambulance and Fire Service working out of the same building and as we are all key workers we are coming into work daily.

"So I would like your children to spread some cheer by creating either a letter or picture to us with their name and age on it that they can send digitally (phone screen shot/scan) to the following email address: [email protected]

"When we receive their work, we will be putting it up at the station and doing some shout-outs over the next few weeks, showing off what your children have done for us to keep us going through these difficult times.

"Take care and stay safe. Emma."
